Who is responsible

The data controller is Cenner, obrt za računalno programiranje i ostale usluge, vl. Matija Mikulinec, Mikulinci 8, 10010 Zagreb, Croatia (OIB 23152585818, MB 99210363). Questions or requests: [email protected].

What we record

When a short link is opened, our server records the time, the IP address, the browser's user agent (from which we read the device type, browser and operating system), the page that sent the visitor and any campaign tags in the address, and an approximate location (country, region and city) looked up from the IP address on our own server.

When a link is created, edited or deleted, we store the address, the short code and any note you add, and record the time, IP address and user agent of the request.

Why, and on what basis

We use this to run the redirects, to show link statistics, and to keep the service safe by limiting requests and spotting abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running and protecting the service (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, or build profiles of visitors.

Who sees it

Only Cenner, and the hosting provider that runs our server and database on our behalf. Statistics are shown only to the administrator, behind a password. We may disclose data where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Links are kept until they are deleted. Visit and request records are kept as long as they are needed for statistics and security, and are deleted on request, as described below.

Your rights

You can ask us for access to your data, to correct or delete it, to restrict its use, or object to it, by writing to [email protected]. You can also complain to the Croatian data protection authority, AZOP (azop.hr).

Cookies

Shorten does not use cookies, and has no analytics or advertising trackers. The app saves two small values in your browser's local storage so that it works: which server to talk to, and the app's access key. They never leave your device except to sign in to Shorten, and clearing your browser data removes them. Because they are strictly necessary, they do not need consent.
